Zayda Mestas '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches, 

My profile itself can tell you a lot about who I am as an athlete and student. I am results-driven, competitive, and hard-working. What it can't tell you is that I put family first and strive to be the best at what I am doing both on and off the course. I am a serious person that likes to have fun and I value the people in my life. I am the youngest of three children, I have two brothers that are collegiate athletes, so you could say that I am following in their footsteps. 

My Freshman year was canceled due to Covid, however, my Sophomore year Varsity team was ranked 1st in our conference and 2nd in regionals last year. I was ranked 7th individually in the state for all sophomores last year and was all-conference.  I was proud to be a part of the DHS Varsity team that competed at State. My Junior year Varsity team was also ranked 1st in our conference and 2nd in regionals. I was personally ranked 1st as an individual in our conference. We competed at State but fell short of our team goals. As the Team Captain, I found the experience motivating and am looking forward to finishing strong my senior year! I received several accolades that have pushed me to achieve more this upcoming spring season. This year will be full of exciting opportunities and I have my eye on the end result......STATE!
