Hi, I am Lauren Kempf, a junior at Harry D. Jacobs High School. Thank you for taking an interest and the time to read my profile. I carry a 3.90 GPA taking all honors and AP classes. Studies come first, it is important to me to maintain my GPA and continue my education. My goal is to play golf at the college level while continuing my education. I am excited to bring my best to your college.
I have been playing golf since I was twelve. I love practicing and playing golf on the course trying to improve my game. I am very committed to the game and I practice daily, even with the difficulties living in Illinois where it snows in the winter. I enjoy practicing my swing, putting, strength & conditioning and most important mental part of my game! I work very hard on and off the golf course improving my education, golf and community involvement.
Currently I am in my 3rd year of being part of the Jacobs girls’ varsity golf team. Joining Jacobs Girls golf team as a freshman and making varsity has been very rewarding to me. I learned what it is like to have teammates. My teammates have become a big part of my life on and off the golf course. Golf can be very individually centered, but I find the team side to be most rewarding.
One of my accomplishments in past golf sessions was when I made a hole in one in a tournament and placed 6th overall. I have played on the MCJGA (McHenry County Junior Golf Association) for two years. The MCJGA allows me to gain experience playing in tournaments. In the 2017 and 2018 season I came in 2nd overall in the standing. In 2018, I continued to expand my golf experience by adding two day tournaments from the IJGA an MAJGA to my list of accomplishments. I placed 17th overall in the IJGA 16-18 girls out of 169 players.
During the spring I am in my 2nd year of being on the JV Track and field team. I am part of the long distance team. I run the 800 meter, 800 meter relay and mile.
I am an active member at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church. I am a member of interact which is a community service organization at school. Interact has taught me the importance of community service.
My teammates describe me as friendly, fun and supportive. I have been very fortunate to have family, coaches and friends that support my education, golf and community service efforts. Thank you again for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to being part of your team in the near future.
