My name is Olivia Ireland and I am a junior at Chapman High School. I have been playing golf since I was eight years old and have played in the number one spot on my high school varsity team since eighth grade. Every year I have put in more work and practice than the previous year to improve my game the best I can. Golf is very important to me and I have had the goal of playing in college for as long as I can remember. Golf has taught me many life skills and led me to meet many new people, and playing in college would allow me to continue doing that. I couldn’t imagine my life without golf in it. School is also very important to me and maintaining good grades while also leaving time for golf. I have taken AP and honor classes and have maintained a GPA of 5 or higher throughout high school. This past year I have started taking my game very seriously to achieve my goals of playing in college. I play in as many tournaments as I can all year long and have been qualifying for a few invitational tournaments. Right now I average mid-high 70s and have been working hard to reach my goal of averaging around even par.
