My name is Ginevra Saloy and I am 15 years old, currently I am in 10th grade at Seattle Christian HS. My dad introduced me to the sport of golf when I was five years old and I have been playing ever since. Over the years I have grown to love the sport and become more passionate for it. First Tee of Seattle was my first golf experience, learning golf rules and etiquette. Eventually I started participating in WJGA and Rocky mountain tournaments. When I was the eleven I joined Meridian Valley Country Club for individual coaching and Jr. PGA League. I have made their first team all star team every year. 2023 and 2024 I made it to state for WJGA. My freshman year of high school I placed 3rd at leagues, 2nd place at districts, and finishing 5th in State. I had a great opportunity on my school team to lead and be a positive example. For example, cheering on my teammates until the last person finished, helping at practices, and being encouraging and patient. One of the motivating factors for me in golf is that I am a female minority golfer. This putts me in a small bubble and I think its important to prove to myself and other girls like me that we can be successful. I hope to one day be inspiring to young girls like me to achieve there dreams no matter what they look like. This struggle would be so much harder if I didn't have a supportive family, coaches, and God by my side. Having faith is God remembering that He is always there with me is such a blanket of relief.
I have other interests and passions including baking. Two summers ago I started to bake cake pops and sell them to clients. I enjoy baking and serving people as well as being creative. Doing this has helped me learn great money management, life, and organizational skills. Sports is a huge part of my life which is why I played volleyball, basketball and golf freshman year at my school. My sophomore year I played volleyball and will compete in golf in the spring. I love to stay active and be included in my school, and sports is just one way I do that. Another way I stay active in school is working at the school coffee shop. Being one of the head baristas I am able to work on leadership as well as customer service. I am focused in school and want to maintain a high GPA. This year I have a 4.0 and am taking an AP course and two math classes. This year I was accepted into National Honor Society. This program requires consistent high GPA as well as community service. I am able to volunteer with my youth group at the Renton Community Center serving dinner and playing with little kids and volunteering at school events. In the summer I am able to volunteer at Parkshore Retirement Community and have the honor of going on day trips with the community members. Over the summer I do personal training for strength and agility for all sports specifically golf. I believe I would be a great asset for your team, because I have had many life and business experiences that have brought responsibility, and leadership skills. I always work hard no matter the situation, and have a positive attitude.
