My name is Olivia Benisch and gymnastics is my favorite thing to do. I have been doing gymnastics ever since I was 3 years old and instantly fell fell in love with the sport. The main thing I focus on while in practice is that small steps are always progress, and you can only do your best. I love to cheer on my teammates and help out as much as possible. I have the best coaches, they make me feel safe and they help me succeed. I'm never too afraid to ask for help on something that will guide me towards the right direction.
I get along with my teammates where I can call them my best friends. We each give each other advice and treat people with kindness! I know how to be respectful to everyone and make sure other people are happy. While in high school, I've been focusing more on my gymnastics as well as academics. Next year, I plan on taking a class in American Sign Language. I was inspired by the number of interpreters using ASL at major sporting events. I keep my grades up high and always have an open mind.
Not only is gymnastics very important in my life, but I really enjoy surfing. Its a good balance between two completely different sports, it also helps me think that there is so much to life.
For college, I am seeking a school that will assist me financially, provide me the chance to acquire a top-notch education, and let me live out my ambition of competing in collegiate gymnastics. Ever since I was 11 years old, it's always been a true dream to compete in college gymnastics.
