My name is Kendal Mountain, and I have been playing hockey since my freshman year of high school. I joined the team in order to try and make friends, and become a part of a group. During my freshman year I began by playing left wing for the team, learning how to stick handle as well as skate. At the time the Ridgefield team only had one goalie who was a senior, and she would be graduating the following year with no one to replace her. I decided to try to learn the position, and worked my entire summer before sophomore year at SONO Ice House. Sophomore year I became the starting goalie for the team with one other girl as back up. That season I was awarded the MVP of the girls Varsity team, as well as a 2nd all FCIAC team award. My junior year followed suit, and I again received both rewards. Now in my senior year I hope to bring the team to FCIACS, hopefully having a final victory with this team before going off to college. I am determined to work hard with whichever team I play with in college, and know no matter what I am faced with I will not give up. I have worked extremely hard and strive to find a school where I can push myself to the best of my ability in every field.
