Hi coaches! My name is Megan Sladish and I am a 2025 versatile player, playing primarily defense but also right wing. I want to play college hockey and attain a high level of education to set me up for life after college. I go to the Frederick Gunn School where I have been on the dean's list every term, maintaining around a 4.0 GPA while playing three varsity sports, the other two being field hockey and lacrosse.
On the ice, I am a smart two-way defenseman who is hard to play against staying active on the blue line, and ready for the puck at all times. I keep up with the play, stepping into the rush up the ice offensively while ready for a quick transition defensively. I shoot right-handed. Before playing for The Frederick Gunn School and the Connecticut Jr Eagles 19U Tier 1 team, I played for the Syracuse Valley Eagles Tier 1 team as well as the Syracuse Nationals Tier 1 team. In addition, while at public high school, I played for the boy's high school hockey team.
Outside of school and sports, I enjoy helping those around me as well as being involved in the community. At home, I work at a local tennis center and shadow a heart surgeon at a local hospital. When on my breaks from boarding school, I also enjoy going to my public high school to teach some of the lessons in Biology and reconnect with old teachers who once taught me in previous years. At school, I am involved in clubs, one being Gunn Gives Back where we find ways to give back to the community. For example, we have recently made cards for sick children in the hospital.
I am a self-motivated student-athlete who strives to be the best that I can as well as set an example for younger girls who want to do the same. I am always in the gym, whether that be for team lifts, with my brother at home, or just by myself getting stronger. I enjoy the busy schedule that my life entails and I am excited to see what the future holds.
