Kelly Benson '21 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches,

Ever since I was 2 years old I have loved skating and being on the ice. By age 5 I was hooked on hockey. To this day I still love hockey as much as ever and it is a dream of mine to one day play for a Division 1 College team. Over the last few years I have worked very hard on my hockey and academics in order to give me the opportunity to play at Kimball Union Academy this year. I will be a repeat freshman this year, I think this extra year of high school will give me more time to work on my game and get stronger. 

What makes me a good teammate is that I get along with everyone and that I am confident enough in myself that I am very happy for my teammates when they have success. I want to see the team succeed as a team and have fun doing it. Loving hockey as much as I do also helps I believe.

I know that my goal of playing College hockey will take a lot of work and I'm trying to do everything I can to prepare myself. I try to play in as many top camps and tournaments in the summer as I can like Beantown, Hockey Night in Boston, and the New England Developement camp. Currently at KUA I am playing field hockey, working out 3 times a week and going to a hockey clinic twice a week. I can't wait for hockey sean to start up!

I will continue to work hard in both my hockey and academics in order to give myself the best possible chance of playing College hockey.
