With a mother and grandfather who still play hockey and a great-grandfather who played in the Olympics it's no wonder I had skates on at age 2 and a stick in my hand by age 4. From then on it was all-hockey-all-the-time, by New Jersey standards, starting as a Mitey Mite at my family's outdoor winter club and adding travel hockey at age 7. 10 years later I am a Captain of my high school team and a member of the Ironbound Elite, where I have remained loyal to the original founder of my first travel organization all these years.
Over the years I have grown literally and figuratively. I am the consummate team player. I will do anything to help the team and play any position, except goalie (not that I haven't offered). This has made me the ultimate Jill of-all-trades. Need an offensive push? I'm on it. Need defensive help for a penalty kill? I'm your girl. Want an inexperienced player to get her first goal of the season? I will pass in front of the net all day until it happens.
I'm lightning fast with the ability to see the whole sheet of ice and predict where the puck will be ten seconds down the road. I fight in the corners and never give up on a back-check. Team is family, and I protect my teammates with my life. I hope to continue this in college where I can pursue a career in Athletic Training and still play the sport I love.
