Hi! My name is Sofia, I'm 16 yrs old and a junior at WHS. I currently play for the NJ Colonials 16U AA Tier 2 team.
I would like to have the honor of playing women's ice hockey in college! I started playing Ice Hockey when I was 14. Skating came easy after being a figure skater before. I have pushed myself a lot throughout the past 2 years and my speed of improvement is tremendous. I am extremely proud and I am continuing to work hard and strive for the best.
I was inspired to play Ice Hockey by my little brothers and watching their games and practices each weekend! I began at a beginner's clinic, and proceeded to take private lessons each week. Along with that, I attended a high school boys Summer camp for a month. I then joined the Union Thunder girls team and the WHS JV girls team during my freshman year, but also played in several Varsity games. I went on with attending as many different events that would give me as much ice time as possible. With consistency, effort and hard work, my skills advanced quickly.
