Hello everyone,
I am Alexis Riley from Viola, Delaware. I’m a 2025 graduate who is wrapping up my 11th year of playing lacrosse and my second year as a starting midfielder for Caesar Rodney High School. This season was an amazing one that saw our team have its best record in school history at 14-3 and a playoff run that ended with a loss to the eventual Delaware State Champions. Additionally, this season was personally a challenging and fulfilling one that required me to be our team’s utility player at times and fill in at attack and defense depending on our injury and game plan scenarios.
Lacrosse has become such an important part of my life over the years. It’s allowed me to have a creative outlet that also forces me to push myself. I have always found lacrosse to have a fulfilling and calming effect on my life and I hope to continue playing at the next level. I believe that the best part of my game is my field vision and that this makes me an unselfish player...but I will not hesitate to put my foot in the ground and go to goal as well. Another personal attribute that I possess is effort. I will do everything in my power to never be out worked.
Although lacrosse is a huge part of my life, I also have other attributes and interest away from the field. As a sophomore I was named Varsity Cross Country Team Captain. As an Air Force JROTC member I was selected Flight Sergeant, Airman of the Year, Air Commando Award Recipient and Delaware State Varsity Drill Team Champion. I am also a 3 times World Finalist for Odyssey of the Mind where my team placed 2nd in the world in 2022, a Chinese Club member and FFA member. I am currently working on my USA Lacrosse Referee Certification and Private Piloting License. Academically, I am carrying a 4.14 GPA and take Honors level and AP level courses. Lastly, I have been studying Chinese since kindergarten and fluent in Mandarin.
Volunteer opportunities I enjoy the most are cooking meals for a local women's shelter and rescuing nesting terrapins and flipped horseshoe crabs trapped in the rocks along the Delaware coast. My greatest satisfaction though comes from honoring our nation's fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day through Wreaths Across America.
My professional dream is to become a commercial pilot and travel the world. I am sure that lacrosse will always be a part of my life whether coaching or refereeing because I just can’t picture living without it. My dream school would be one with an active campus and rich tradition. My dream team would be one that has the feel of a sisterhood with life-long connections instead of a group of individuals.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Lexi
