Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Alaia Jeannin. I play attack for Lax Maniax and Bolles HS. I am in 10th grade, half-French, half-American and live in Jacksonville, Florida. For me, lacrosse is more than just a sport. Lacrosse is a way of life and it saved me from a debilitating future. Diagnosed at 12 with a rare form of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), doctors discouraged me from sports and told me I would never be able to play. Not easily dissuaded, I persevered (with lots of help from Physical Therapists and some great coaches) and now play Lacrosse competitively. I seize every opportunity to play, learn and improve. My goal is to play attack for a D1 or D3 college. I have a high game-IQ and take pride in doing lots of assists. I am great at throwing fakes and drawing in defense to help my teammates go to goal. I value being in a team and work hard to stay in peak fitness. I was a starter in my HS team last season and was awarded “Most Dedicated”.

Dash Lacrosse in Jacksonville, Florida is a recreational team that runs between club and high school seasons. It is operated by the same people who run Shine Lacrosse.
2023 Surge Elite (Advanced Travel)
SURGE ELITE ™ is a girl’s select lacrosse team based in Jacksonville, FL. This program is a great option for the athlete that is seeking advanced player development (ready to progress beyond the basic skill level). The select team participates in both local and showcase tournaments during the fall and summer seasons. Elite Team athletes will train with our staff of experienced NCAA and international level athletes, US Lacrosse certified coaches, college recruitment mentors, and strength & conditioning specialists. Our training program focuses on higher-level skills and athletic development, as well as position-specific strategy. Season training also includes our Recruitment Readiness Program ™ where athletes participate in workshops to help them prepare for collegiate-level opportunities; in the past four years, Surge Elite has produced multiple NCAA and NAIA prospects and commits. Players from the elite team program have been evaluated and recruited from over 50 college programs, and this number is growing every year!

This camp features top Division I head and assistant coaches. Training sessions focused on teaching skills, concepts and game situations to play at the next level. Loads of scrimmage opportunities in small game and full field situations with and against staff will be held each day along with tournament play each evening. The camp also features sessions on Strength & Conditioning, Speed Training, Nutrition and Sports Psychology.
