Katherine Hodapp '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katherine Alexandra Redding Hodapp but I preferably go by Kat. I grew up playing soccer and then when my mom put me into lacrosse at eight years old, I fell in love with it. In eighth grade I played on Out-of-Door academy's varsity lacrosse team and then I moved to Riverview for the IB program and I aimed to play lacrosse there as well. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with a heart condition called SVT which caused a bit of a set back in my athletic goals due to the fact I had to get heart surgery in the middle of training season. Due to that set back i played on the Junior Varsity team which was an amazing experience. We had an undefeated season and I served as the captain as a freshman. My passion is writing and I have a fascination with cardiology and the medical field. In college I hope to major in English Literature and minor in Biology with the hope of going to medical school and getting my M.D. in pediatric cardiology. I have been on Honor Roll throughout my entire academic career, I am in Rho Kappa (NHHS), work at a sleep away camp every summer, and I am an avid member of the Riverview History Bowl team. On a more personal note, i love spending time with my friends, painting, and reading. In the past i have had challenges with my mental health, so i believe maintaining a stable mental state is of the utmost importance.
