My name is Addy McIlvain. I'm a highly motivated, hardworking student athlete who is very competitive both on and off the field. I'm very focused on my academics and love playing lacrosse and soccer. I'm a team player, coachable and push to improve every day. My goal is to continue thriving academically while improving my skills and lax IQ through club and high school. I can't wait for this upcoming season!
2023 Note from current Club Coach, Keirsten MacLellan:
"I have had the privilege of coaching Addy for almost 5 years on both the Coppermine 2025 Black team and previously on the Redshirts 2025 team. She is a tall, multi-sport athlete with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills. On the field, Addy is a dominant defender with strong midfield experience that plays confidently on all sides of the ball- draw, offense, defense, and in transition. Addy recently stepped up and made the transition from midfield to defense based on team needs and has shown the upmost of pride in that role. Her height, skill level and coachability make her a consistent threat on defense. Her teammates rely on her defense and to handle the ball in transition. They will often look for her to take the ball over to the offensive end and create the fast break. She communicates well on defense, uses her height to knock passes down and often comes up with 50/50 ground balls. Teams that run “iso” plays often do a lot of switching to get Addy off the attacker that is looking for the 1v1 to goal. Her goalies have an immense amount of confidence and trust in the defensive unit when Addy is on the field. "
2022 Note from former Club and current Highschool Coach, Dave Kennedy:
"Addy McIlvain is a freshman for Gerstell Academy. My expectation is for her to earn a starting position during her freshman year, and to develop into a contributor right away in the IAAM A division. She is very tall and physical, and has the potential to be a very dominant player in our league, and in the sport of lacrosse. As a freshman, she is nearly 6 feet tall and very muscular, and will be a force to reckon with on the high school scene. And she will likely be a formidable athlete by the time she is evaluated as a prospect for college lacrosse. I think she has definite Division I potential as a lacrosse player."
