I have been playing lacrosse constantly since I was in second grade. I was introduced to the sport by my dad who competed in high school.
In the beginning, I played for a recreational team to gain exposure, then immediately transitioned to playing for my school. In 8th grade I competed with the JV team and last year, in 9th grade I was the JV captain and a Varsity starter. I recently made the decision that I love what I do and what to compete for as long as I can.
From having so much experience and exposure to the sport, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about gameplay and rules. This summer I plan on volunteering at a local organization running and teaching lacrosse clinics.
For my life in general, I would consider myself to be a leader and role model. In the summer I work at a leadership, entrepreneurship, and athletic development camp for elementary and middle school children. My job helps facilitates a mindset on and off the field of being supportive but still pushing myself and everyone around me to work harder and be the best. Another motivating factor for me is a strong family connection; I incorporate this into my playing by making sure that everyone is taken care of and never left behind.
Academically I maintain a high GPA and get honor roll, as well as, effort honor roll every trimester. I am a part of 6 clubs at school and have a social life off of campus in addition. In my 11th grade year I am taking one AP class and in my 12th grade year, I am planning on taking 3 AP classes.
I am unsure of what the future holds for me, but beyond pushing myself academically in college, I hope to be able to continue pushing myself on the lacrosse field.
