Personal Statement
I came from a long line of Jamaican immigrants. I was the firstborn in the United States. Coming from a country that is not exposed to too many sports besides soccer to then living in the United States was a big change for my family. I was always an athletic kid. Since elementary school, my teachers offered different programs to keep me active over the summer. Such as going to a Canoe Camp in Devils Island, Canada, or sports camps around Connecticut. My mother definitely wanted the absolute best for me so I went to a private boarding school in Connecticut called Rumsey Hall. I was exposed to different sports such as field hockey, ice hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, and many other sports. I started playing lacrosse in my 6th-grade year and fell in love with the sport so I continued at my new high school boarding school. I definitely have a love for lacrosse and hope to continue playing in college and be an asset to a team.
