Hi - my name is Lauren MacLean. I am a junior at The Derryfield School in Manchester, NH. I am a defender and play lacrosse for Derryfield Varsity and NH Tomahawks 2021 Purple team. I have been playing lacrosse since second grade. At that time, I was strongly encouraged by my brother to start playing the sport. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on the game. I’ve been playing and training year-round so I can continue to become better each time I step on the field. I am a 3-sport athlete (Varsity Field Hockey, Varsity Basketball, and Varsity Lacrosse) and am a 2-year Starting Defender. Last year, my team finished 15-2 and was 3rd in the state. This year, we finished 13-4 and were 2nd in the State. I have greatly improved since the Spring. I see myself as a tough, hard-working, self-disciplined and versatile player. I strive to be a committed and reliable teammate and to compete at the highest level.
Community service is a big part of my life. Ever since 9/11, my family and I walk/run in support of the Jeffrey Coombs Memorial Road Race (5K). I also volunteer for the Easter Seals and American Cancer Society. My goals are to go to a college and be part of a team that supports me, not only on the field and weight room but that also helps me fulfill my dream of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I would love to follow in the footsteps of my Aunt, who also worked in the labor and delivery unit.
