Hi - my name is Lauren MacLean. I am a senior at The Derryfield School in Manchester, NH. I am a defender and play lacrosse for Derryfield Varsity and the NH Tomahawks 2021 Purple team. When I was 6 years old my brother encouraged me to start playing lacrosse. I've been hooked on the game ever since. I'm a versatile, positive, aggressive, composed defender capable of shutting down a team's offense and creating transition. My LAX IQ is strong and I work year-round to improve and continually raise my game. Over the past few years, I have started on defense but I also have several years of playing 2-way middie for my town and club teams. Pre-season Freshman year I earned my position as a Varsity Starter. We were Division Champions and State Final Four. Sophomore year we went to the State Championship. Senior year I mentored my younger teammates and helped lead my Derryfield team to a 17-1 season and to win the State Championship for the first time in 7 years.
I've been on the top NH Tomahawks 2021 Purple team for 5 years.
This Fall, I played Varsity Field Hockey and started at midfield. Last Fall, I played Varsity Field Hockey at forward. We had an undefeated regular season and were State Final Four.
Outside of lacrosse, I am part of Yearbook, Debate Club, volunteer at both an inner-city elementary school and soup kitchen and have been participating in the Jeffrey Coombs (9/11) Memorial Road Race for more than 10 years. My goal is to play the highest level of lacrosse and be on a path to have a career in healthcare.
