My name is Emma Schmidt and I am a senior in high school beginning this fall. I am also the 2020 Defense Captain for my high school girls' lacrosse team, and I will play in two club teams this fall. On June 29, 2019, I played on the Under Armour uncommitted team (#2) in Maryland.
I am strongly considering a career in the field of Law. My goal is to find a school in which I can continue to play girls’ Lacrosse and grow with a team, as well as cultivate my academic career. I am competitive in every aspect of my life, and I believe I would be a benefit to any team.
I am different from other athletes because of my intense strong will and competitive nature. Not everyone can appreciate that, but I was raised by my mother and have a sister, one year older than me. We had to work hard for everything we had. That made me determined. I realized at an early age that things were not going to be given to me. When I had a horse, I babysat and saved my money for lessons and shows, and we dominated the ring. I started playing lacrosse in junior high, and always worked hard at it, but a year ago, I decided that lacrosse was my passion, and to focus solely on lacrosse and school. I work out daily in the off season, and I practice every chance I get, with or without my team. I was Student Athlete of the Week at my school in May. I tried out for the 2019 Under Armour team and was invited to play on the Uncommitted Team (#2). Failure is not an option for me. Having said that, my school is a fairly small district, and their program is new. They do not have thorough stats and videos, etc. yet, and they are still cultivating their program. I thoroughly enjoyed playing with my Under Armour team, and I look forward to being on a team of that caliber throughout my college career.
