In 5th grade, I volunteered to be the goalie for my Lacrosse team, stepping into the cage because no one else wanted to. In my first game, the very first shot, I got a direct hit to the face guard. I shook it off and readied myself for another one. From that moment on, I knew I had found my passion and place on the team.
I am a tenacious scholar-athlete who strives to excel in the classroom and on the field. I see this as a feedback loop: improving my physical endurance, mental strategy, and ability to quickly recover from a mistake in the cage enables me to tackle academic challenges, problem solve, and confront difficult situations with self-reflection and confidence. I am adept at balancing the rigorous requirements of AP/Honors courses (4.38 GPA) with the time commitment and dedication necessary to become an outstanding goalie (.633 Save PCT). Maintaining a growth mindset – being persistent, diligent, and resilient –helps me to reframe failure - like a missed save - into an opportunity to improve my skills.
At my core, I am a collaborative and supportive team player. As a collegiate goalie, I want to contribute to a team that embraces that collaborative spirit, helping one another overcome failure so we can reach our full potential on and off the field. Ultimately, my goal is to join a community and a team that will support my future endeavors: finding a fulfilling career, maintaining meaningful relationships, and advancing social justice.
