Personal Statement

Hi, I'm Alaina Wells and I'm currently a Junior at Miamisburg High School. I’m currently enrolled at Wright State University taking College Credit Plus classes (I go to college and get both college and high school credit for the classes). I would love to play beyond high school; mostly because I love the sport and I get to be a part of a whole new family. I’m a very determined, loyal, and hard-working person. To that extent, before a game, I always review the game from last season to see how I played and what the other team did. I see the field extremely well and can tell where people are going to be based on how the defense is set up. When I practice, I do everything to the best of my ability. This is because I'm not only preparing myself, but I want to do my best in preparing my teammates. I can’t let them down, which is why I take everything in practice and during the games seriously. The collegiate level is a totally new game. You see players do things they couldn't do in high school. I understand that and feel like I can adjust to that level of play quickly, because I typically learn on the fly. If you tell me to do something, I can usually incorporate the skill or movement immediately. Most importantly, as a member of the Navajo Nation, I want to represent my culture in the game that we created. The Thompson brothers have been great role models and I feel I can be one as well. I want to change the game just like many athletes have done already. I have goals and dreams as everyone does. Academics are an important part of my future. I want to not only focus on the athletic part of college, but also academics. Going to a school where they provide my major is a must. Playing lacrosse and getting an education will help me turn my dream into reality.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
