I have played lacrosse since 2nd grade. I play for Alyssa Murray's club team, Iron Horse, Legend Lacrosse, and I am a 3 sport varsity athlete at St. Andrew's (volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse), I have an unweighted GPA of 3.9 in all honors classes. In 2021, I was an All-Conference honoree for the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) as a Midfielder in Lacrosse and Point Guard in Basketball, as well as SAS lacrosse MVP for 2021 season. I love playing transition defense and creating caused turnovers. I led League in Caused Turnovers averaging 4.4 per game.
Sports has always been apart of my life. I love being part of a team and I work hard to be a good teammate and leader on and off the field.
My Iron Horse coach Alyssa Murray wrote, "Ella's a quintessential two-way midfielder that embraces "dirty work" between the 30s, digs in on defensive matchups, and contributes offensively with great vision and ability to score. She does a great job applying her multi-sport background to the lacrosse field."
My HS-Coach Ella Thorpe wrote," Ella is one of the most athletic and tenacious players I have ever coached. Her work ethic and desire to win are unmatched. As a freshman, Ella led our team with a leadership style respected by everyone - upperclassmen, coaches, and opponents. Ella led by example - hard work every day in practice and push in every game. Ella's mentor skills are astounding for someone of her age. When she speaks, teammates listen. Post-practice, Ella is still on the field looking to improve and seeking feedback. Ella's lax IQ is unparalleled. Her ability to adjust accordingly and situationally is not coached."
My Legend Lax coach Caitlin Fegley wrote, " Ella has some of the best field vision of any player I've coached. Ella is a jack-of-all-trades and plays defense or middie for our team because of her aggression and anticipation; she can read the opponent like a book - always one step ahead of the play. That doesn't stop her from being excellent on the attacking end. She is selfless, knows how to work off ball and is an exceptional feeder. We call Ella the vacuum cleaner because she can suck up any ground ball out of a mess and is the person we send to the center circle when we are in need of a key 50/50 ball."
I am Member of the SAS Athletic Cabinet and a Student Ambassador for the Admissions office. I've raised nearly $30,000 for patient safety initiatives for the Louise H. Batz Patient Safety Foundation honoring my late grandmother.
