Personal Statement
Hello coaches! In the future I hope to play lacrosse in a college that both supports me athletically and academically. In the future I would like to become a veterinarian, as I have a strong passion for animals, science and helping others. Academics are a very important part of my life and I take them very seriously. I will always put in the time and effort into both school and sports. Currently I play field hockey and lacrosse. I made first string varsity field hockey since freshman year, and am now team captain. In the winter I spend my time at the gym, at my job (Ellie May‘s Doggie Daycare) and with my lacrosse stick in preparation for the spring season. Ever since freshman year, I have filled the role as the starter draw specialist for my team (both club and school). Even though I love all of my sports, lacrosse has inspired and fulfilled me the most. I have been playing lacrosse for about 10 years and have grown to love and appreciate the sport more and more. I even took part in the 2022 and 2023 US National Tournaments, representing the first ever Vermont team. I would make a good candidate for your team because I am willing to put in the effort to be my best possible self. I give 110% effort every time I pick up my lacrosse stick, whether it’s in practice or in a game. This makes me different from other students because I will always persevere and work hard, even when there are tough times. I believe that I am a teammate that helps lead my team by example. For example, when the coaches give me suggestions and things to work on, I happily take their tips and begin practicing them, without any resentment. In addition, I always work to push others to be their best self, because lacrosse is a team sport and when we are all playing our best, great things will come.
