Claire Parrish '25 Recruiting Profile

     My name is Claire Parrish; I began rowing this fall (August 2023) and have fallen in love with the sport. I’m a member of the class of 2025 at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, LA. I’m a dual sport athlete; I’ve been a club swimmer since I was nine years old and I currently swim on ASH’s varsity and state swim teams. In August 2023, I attended a Sparks camp to give rowing a try. At camp, I discovered that I enjoy being on the water more than I enjoy being in it! I joined the New Orleans Rowing Club in the fall of 2023. My goal is to row in college; I get an adrenaline rush on the water and I’m passionate about encouraging my teammates and myself to all be our best. I thrive in a routine and enjoy the rigor of the sport. Going to practice is my favorite part of my day because it gives me the opportunity to grow mentally tougher and become physically stronger!

     I’ve been a year-round club sport athlete (swimming) since elementary school, balancing my academics and at least two and a half hours of practice a day. I am used to prioritizing my school’s rigorous coursework while excelling in sports. Being a student athlete is who I am, it’s the only life I know and love!

     In college, I’m interested in majoring in marketing, business, or finance with the goal of pursuing a career in real estate. My ideal college has a student body that loves their school and has a deep respect for intellectual values. I’m excited to discuss rowing at the college level!
