I am a hard worker and committed to success. In my freshman year I beat out 6 other coxswains for a spot on the freshman 8. In my sophomore year I beat out an upperclassmen and 2 classmates for a spot on the V8 in the fall and a v8 which became a jv8 in the spring. Now I'm in my junior year of high school, I am the number one coxswain on my team. I coxswain a varsity four which is set for our first race of the season at the largest regatta in the world next Sunday at the Head of the Charles. I have already conquered the challenging course of the Charles River last year, I made it down the course with a Women's youth 8 without stopping, without dropping out a pair, without crashing. Very few coxswains can say the same, especially being a sophomore racing a course that difficult for the first time. I will continue to work hard as I plan on going to medical school to study neurological behaviors. I spend a lot of time volunteering, I was the head of volunteers at my church until I needed to spend more time on crew and studies, but I still play a huge role in my church. I volunteer at Gilda's club helping people deal with their connections to cancer. I am a leader, not only do I lead my team as a coxswain but I am an older sister and was in charge of volunteers. I intern with a CPA, and take 4 AP classes this year. I excel academically, constantly looking to challenge and better myself. I will bring great things to the college I attend, I will bring my coxswain expertise, my desire to help and lead others, and my scholarly ambition.
