Hi, my name is Kearin Hunt, and I am a rising senior. I am proud to say I'm part of the Montclair High School crew team, a very competitive and successful community. I fell in love with crew in middle school. Since then, it has shaped me into who I am today. What started as a sport I was unfamiliar with quickly became a central part of me and has given me values I will cherish throughout life. After much adversity during my freshman and part of my sophomore year, through hard work, grit, and dedication, I earned a seat in the Lightweight 4+, a boat that had gone undefeated the year before. We had a rough start, but we pushed through together. That season, we medaled at Stotesbury, and I truly felt seen—not despite my size, but because of it.
That experience changed everything. I became the stroke seat my junior year and helped lead our boat to silver at Stotesbury. I train 6 days a week while also balancing my schoolwork, I’m extremely coachable, always looking for feedback, and I know I haven’t reached my full potential yet. Rowing has taught me how to lead, work through setbacks, and show up for my team. I bring dedication, consistency, and a hunger to keep growing—and I’m ready to contribute to a college program that values heart, discipline, and drive.
