Hello! My name is Caleigh Ryan and I am a rower on the girls varsity crew team at Bay Shore High School. I am also a rower for the Oyster Bay Community Rowing team during the fall season to better my skills as a rower and improve my overall technique. I am a current junior and an IB Diploma candidate. This means that in the last two years of my high school career I am required to take six IB classes, with three of the classes being two year courses. These classes can lead to a lot of stress on top of the stress of junior year itself. Thankfully, rowing has relieved so much of this stress in my life. The time that I get to spend on the water with my fellow athletes and friends has brought me so much joy and helped me to overcome a multitude of challenges in my life. I would love to continue to row in college not only to make my high school to college transition easier and less stressful, but also to continue to make genuine friendships and connection with people who share a passion and love for my sport.
