My friends convinced me to join crew freshman year and I'm so glad they did. I started as a rower, but then transitioned to a coxswain. I am part of Bay Shore HS Crew and recently joined Oyster Bay Community Rowing for the fall season. I really enjoy the girls on my team, I love the feeling of a close knit group that are supportive and will always be there for you. Rowing is hard and the rigorous experience brings people together. I am a supportive person who encourages my rowers to always do their best on and off the water.
I would like to continue rowing in college because it's a good opportunity to be part of a team. I like being involved in helping my teammates improve. My IB classes have helped me prepare for college in which I plan to study environmental bio-chem. I hope to find colleges that offer both my major and crew.
