I began rowing in 7th grade with Tulsa Youth Rowing's gROWth rec program. My 8th grade year I join TYRA's competitive team and as a novice I was the team captain. My freshman year I made the varsity team and continue to row with Tulsa Youth Rowing. I am currently varsity team captain. I am able to scull or sweep in all boats working well as a team member or as an individual. I have traveled to both in state and out of state regattas and have also participated at indoor erg competitions. Competed in Head of the Oklahoma, Heart of Texas, Wichita Frostbite, Natchitoches, Shocker Sprints, Dallas SWEAT, C.R.A.S.H B’s, and Head of the Charles. I have also participated as a volunteer for the Tulsa Raft Race and learn to ROW programs.
In school I am in PAP and AP classes and maintain a 3.83 unweighted GPA, 4.5 weighted. I have also been recognized as Student of the Month, Student of the Year, and am in National Honors Society. I am working on becoming bilingual in Spanish and enjoy learning about other cultures. I won my school's National Geography Bee and participated in the Oklahoma National Geography Bee state competition in 2018.
Off the water and out of the classroom I enjoy traveling and participating in international mission trips with my church. I have been on 5 Estonian mission trips helping with Vacation Bible School, local mission trips to Tulsa and twice to Kentucky. I spent my 2021 spring break working at Big Heart Orphanage in Mexico. On Sundays I am a leader for my church's 3 year old Sunday school classroom.
I am excited about my future as a collegiate rower. I have worked hard on the water, in the classroom and in my personal life to become a well rounded athlete.
