I thrive in a competitive, high pressure environment, with my determination and desire to succeed driving me to do the best that I am capable of. Crew has always provided this environment, and this drive and persistence has in turn enabled me to win two Virginia state championships and a bronze medal at Canadian nationals in the 2019 season. I'm adaptable, and as a result have done both sculling and sweep rowing in competitive seasons. Before joining crew, I found challenge and competition by practicing and competing in the martial art Kempo, and have earned multiple wins in Kempo tournaments as well. I also try my best to push myself academically; I’m now taking my six year of Chinese, and all of my classes except for one are advanced placement. Even when factors in my life are negative, I strive not to let it impact my performance in athletics or academics.
