Reese Hearding '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Reese and I am a rising junior at Alexandria City High School. I fell in love with the sport of rowing in the summer of 2021 when I participated in a learn-to-row program. I rowed competitively for the first time in the spring of my 8th grade year and joined the Old Dominion Boat Club during the fall of my freshman year. I continued to work hard during the winter season and made the 1st Varsity Eight in the spring of 2024. This past school year, I had the opportunity to race at Head of the Charles, SRAA National Championships, and Canadian Nationals. Rowing has given me the chance to learn the importance of leadership and determination which has contributed to the success of my team. It has also helped me stay motivated in my academics, allowing me to be a high-achieving student. I am always looking for opportunities to grow and improve and I hope to continue that in a competitive rowing program.
