Participating in athletics has had a substantially positive impact on my life to date. It has motivated me in school and out of school. Playing a sport, requires discipline both on and off the field. I am motivated to keep up with school and grades, be a good friend and sibling. I am being raised by a single mom, with 5 siblings and 5 of which, including me, are adopted out of foster care. My mom has always said school comes before anything, and being a good person comes before everything. I believe in order to be a student athlete you must always make positive decisions that will allow you to be both a good person, a good student and an exceptional athlete. Having learned the discipline to do these things simultaneously has allowed me to focus on playing the sport I love. Out of school, athletics has motivated me to get better at my skills and work my hardest to become better than I was yesterday. Having practice 3 nights a week and private training 1-2 times a week is helping me become a better player. My goal is to play all through high school and make a collage team. I love the game and the opportunities it provides me both personally and academically.
