Maggie Maldonado '19 Recruiting Profile

Growing up in a soccer family, there was no doubt that I would be a soccer player. Even though I has always been pretty good at it, I never thought that there would be a day that I would be considering playing for a college considering that I have almost always been the smallest player on the team and a little on the shy side.  However, my parents have always believed in my abilities and enrolled in club soccer at the age of ten.  To my surprise, I was elected to be on the varsity soccer team as a freshman, and it was at that point that I felt that maybe I did have a shot to play at the next level. 

I really enjoy playing the game of soccer and all the sacrifice that goes with it. Getting home after a hard-fought game and have to finish homework is not easy, but I do it because I understand the importance of balancing school and athletics. All my coaches have always said that I am easy to coach and follow directions well. I am eager to show college coaches that don't let this 5'2" frame fool you, I am a good soccer player.
