Hi, my name is Nicole Nielsen and I currently attend John W. North High School in Riverside, CA. I have been playing soccer since I was 4, and it has always been a major part of my life. My strongest position is outside midfield. In this position, you have to have good communication with both the defenders and the forwards. Over my soccer career, I have played soccer in Italy, France, and Germany with the Redlands Cultural Exchange Team. During our trip to Europe, I was able to learn how to adapt while playing. Many of the teams we played against had quite different strategies of play than in the US, so I had to adjust the way I played in order to better fit the needs of my team.
Playing soccer with my high school varsity team has really helped me manage my time better. I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program, also known as IB, and enrolled in Advanced Placement classes. In addition to the challenging courses, I am also the drum major of my school's marching band. I have had to learn how to balance all of my school work, soccer practices, games, marching band practices, and competitions. Soccer has had an amazing impact on my life so far and I would love to continue it into college.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to talking to you.
Nicole Nielsen
