Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Kayla Berube and I am from Manchester, CT where I attend Manchester High School. I play Center Back and am part of the 2023 graduating class. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. Overtime, I have gone through a rocky path with soccer. A few years ago I fell out of love with this sport and sort of had a feeling of loneliness. It felt like I had lost a really close friend. In the past couple years, my coach for my CFC club team helped me rediscover my passion and love for the sport. He always pushed me to be my best self and somehow everything he would correct me on would get through to me and I would apply it into my gameplay. I will forever be thankful for my coach, Jason Dieterle, and for my CFC team who showed me what a real team full of true friendships feels like. As a player, I am very focused and determined to improve. Everyone has places to improve and I am always looking for feedback on ways I can improve. I value my team and coaches a lot. The bonds that are within the team and coaches need to be strong in order to work together and improve the gameplay we produce as a whole. I am looking forward to all of the new experiences college will bring on. I am now, more than ever, very intrigued and passionate about furthering my athletic career in college and playing the sport I love for as long as I can.
