Personal Statement
My name is Katie Guerin. I am from Thomaston, Connecticutcut, where I attend Thomaston High School. On my high school team, I play attacking midfield and on my club team, I am a striker. Since the age of 5, I have been playing soccer for recreational, travel, school, and club teams. My coaches and teachers have described me as a leader on the field and in the classroom. I have always put in extra time to make myself a better player by participating in private trainings and playing soccer or futsal year round. One of the qualities that makes me a good candidate for a college team is my sense of determination. It is my belief that you are never too far behind your opponent in a game until the final whistle, because as long as you keep playing hard and trying your best, you can always come back to win. Secondly, I am an unselfish teammate who tries to create opportunities during a game for other players rather than always keeping the ball for myself. I am the type of player who tries to make decisions that will contribute to the success of the whole team. Overall, soccer has shaped my character into the well rounded individual that I am today, both as a student and a player.
