Personal Statement
I was born on the soccer field. My older siblings played and I fell in love with it. I started playing when I was 3 and I would be a very different person today if I didn't play soccer. I've always had a passion to play soccer and I hope to do it until the day I die, and I don't want to ever stop playing soccer because it has always been my favorite way to relieve any stress in my life.
I work hard both on the practice field and during the game to be my best self. I also work hard off the field to do my best in the classroom and throughout my life, and I am always striving to get better and I work hard to do so. I have learned a lot about myself through soccer. I've learned to never give up, I'd rather die trying than quit, and I've always strived to make goals to break them and then make new goals. A reference from my Goalie Coach Anthony Stewart, "In my twenty-five years of coaching, I have never encountered such diligence and dedication of spirit as with Leighann. She came to my program with a lot of raw talent and heart, but what was most impressive was the way she gave 100% on the field every single solitary practice and game".
Academically, I want to get into a great school so that I have the best education possible for my major. I plan to combine my love for soccer and the desire I have to help others by pursuing Sports Medicine. I plan to get a Doctorate in Physical Therapy to be better prepared for any athletic injuries.
