Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was five years old and joined travel at the age of eight. I am a very versatile player and I’m able to adjust to play with anyone. Throughout the few clubs I’ve played in, I've moved around from center back, to center mid, and now to outside back, which I am enjoying the most. I feel to be able to do well in not only athletics, but in the real world, you need to have skills, communication strategies, and be able to work as a team, which I feel I do. I am a three year varsity soccer player at Hoffman Estates High School. I have also played volleyball for HEHS for three years, including two years on varsity. I have been balancing playing multiple sports year-round, with soccer as my first commitment, while also keeping my grades at an A average in AP/honors classes. I am not just looking into athletics, but also getting a good education for my future and being the best person I can be. I am interested in majoring in chemical engineering while playing soccer at the collegiate level. I am involved and on the youth council in my soccer club’s local Youth Leadership Program(ESCO), which is volunteering to help out kids in underprivileged families/areas. I volunteer weekly at Barb's Precious Rescue and Adoption Center as well. I was inducted into HEHS’s National Honor Society at the beginning of my junior year. I also referee soccer in my free time.
