Hi, my name is Chiara DiVito and I would like to introduce myself! I am 16 years old and a Junior at Rolling Meadows HS (Rolling Meadows, IL). I am on the Varsity team. We play in the Mid-Suburban League, with the surrounding D214 school. We finished our season 6-2-2. I scored 3 goals and assisted 3 as well. When I am not playing for my high school, I am training year round with my club, Elite SC. Elite focuses on tactical, technical, physical, and psycho-social skills. We play in the IWSL, and the NPL. Our IWSL team has placed first in our league for the past 7 years. My NPL team is ranked 4th in Illinois, and one of the top teams in our league. As the captain on the team, I know what I am doing on the field. I am a well-rounded, versatile player. I know how to move the ball, where to take it, when to dribble or pass, and I play with composure. My primary positions are AM(10), FW(9), OB/WB(3), and CDM(6). That being said, I have the ability to adapt to any position on the field.
Being a student athlete is not easy. I am just as passionate about my academics as I am about soccer. As a Junior I am looking into my different options for careers after college. I am most interested in nueroscience, and also nursing. As I said before, being a student athlete is not the easiest. As I continue to grow as a player on and off the field, I am also learning about the importance of time management.
I also enjoy giving back not only to my community but the soccer community as well. I have been a part of ESCO (Elite Soccer Community Organization) for 6 years, and I am planning on continuing volunteering through high school. In the past, ESCO has worked with school districts in our area to set up soccer camps for their students to be a part of. We also do other service projects, doing food/clothing drives, or going to Feed My Starving Children whenever we can.
Along with ESCO, I am involved in multiple clubs and activities including DECA, Rotary Interact, Class Council, and student council at my high school. DECA is a business orientated club, where we compete against other schools in our area with role-play-scenarios and presenting in front of judges. Rotary Interact is a voluntarism club. We work with our local Rotary club, to make our community a better place. Currently, we are raising money to send boxes of goods to shelters in Ukraine to aid them through the hard time they are going through right now. As a member on the executive board for Rotary Interact, I am working first hand with these projects. In class council, we plan different events, like homecoming, and how to get more students involved. I am president of my class council, so I represent my class at all times.
I plan to consider colleges that are a good match for my personal, professional, academic, and athletic goals. I have always been very passionate about playing soccer past high school, and my goal right now is to keep pushing to be the best person I can be on and off the field.
