Soccer has been a driving force in my life, and as a goalkeeper, it has instilled in me a relentless work ethic, unwavering commitment, athleticism, and a focus on continuous improvement. These qualities transcend the field and fuel my academic and leadership pursuits. Quick thinking, adaptability, and positivity are essential on the pitch, and they’ve shaped me into a disciplined, well-rounded student and leader.
I currently play up for the Western New York Flash 2008 ECNL-RL team, where I challenge myself every day to grow as a player. I’m also proud to be a goalkeeper for the Hamilton OPDL team in Canada, where I continue to develop my skills at the highest level of competition. My dedication to goalkeeping has led me to train with some of the best in the field. I’ve been fortunate to train with Anton Trifonovs at the prestigious (@kronisacademy) Kronis Goalkeeper Academy, traveling great distances to attend their rigorous sessions, and I’ve been selected for their invite only camp for two consecutive years. Additionally, I train with Global Goalkeepers under Rasih Pala and Paolo Ceccarelli in Canada, further honing my technique and pushing myself to be the best I can be. I recently attended the invite-only All-Star FTF tournament, where I played against top talent from around Canada.
I am eager to find a college that aligns with my core values, where I can continue my athletic and academic growth—particularly in a science program that will challenge me and allow me to thrive. Thank you for considering me and I look forward to the opportunity to connect further.
Sincerely,
Sofia Girotti-Switzer
