I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old and throughout my years of playing have developed a love for the sport. I never really considered it an option in my mind to play at the college level. I just didn't think I had the skills or what it took to be on a college team. In the summer of 2023, a college came to our field for soccer camp. The head coach of that team told me that I thrived in the outside back position and that I could go to college for it if I was determined and open-minded. I consider myself both. Since then, I have been working hard to achieve that goal.
I have great ball control, good foot skills, and can read and understand the game better than most. What makes me different from other recruits is that I am able to play anywhere on the field. Over the years of playing JV and Varsity soccer (2019- Present), I have played in every position except goalkeeper, which I feel is a great strength to have. Participating in another varsity sport helped me thrive in the position I am in currently. While soccer is in the off-season, I started running track in 2022. It has given me so much more tolerance and endurance, not too mention increased my speed. Track is more of an individual sport and you are competing against players on your own team. I have learned to have more respect for my teammates and other players. Other than physical skills, I have been told by many coaches that I have a good character, great sportsmanship, and I am very coachable. I am committed to soccer. I don't miss practices or games. I make an attempt to learn as much as I can when on and off the field. While sports are a very big aspect of my life, academics is always the top priority. I have kept a 4.0 average all throughout high school, even with playing two sports and having a job.
My collegiate goals consist of having a good academic motivation, while also being successful on the soccer field. I want to find a college where I am able to focus on both. Where there is high academic selectivity while competitive. I aspire to succeed, be able to balance academics and athletics, and have fun playing the sport I love.
