Personal Statement
I am a 5’1’ center midfielder (mainly attacking center midfielder) from Lafayette, Louisiana. I currently have a 4.12 gpa and a 29 ACT composite score which I will be retaking this year for a higher score. I have played competitive soccer at Dynamo Juniors since 2011 and I started varsity at Lafayette High School freshman year. I have been captain of my competitive soccer team for 7 years now and will be one of the captains on my high school team this upcoming season. I am now 11 months out of a total ACL repair surgery and I have worked extremely hard to come back better than before. I have more love for the game than I’ve ever had before and I believe through perseverance through this experience I am a stronger player mentally and physically.
I am looking for a school that is competitive in their division and is also a strong academic institution. My goal is to make an impact on the field as soon as I can but I understand the hard work that comes with earning a spot. I not only want to be a strong person on the field but also off the field in my academics. I am interested in pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy and majoring in biology or kinesiology with a consideration of doing a double major. I will be open to Dlll- Dl universities but a requirement is that they offer the academic path to physical therapy even if they do not have the full program.
