Hi! Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Ella Bates and I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. It has always been a dream of mine to play soccer in college. I strive to reach this goal by doing everything I can to better myself, whether that be putting in extra hours during the off-season, collaborating with my teammates outside of practice time, taking constructive criticism and using it to better myself or simply working harder than my opponents.
I have a very strong work ethic and a compelling drive to be the best player on and off the field, that I can be. My extensive knowledge of the game allows me to be a versatile asset to my team. Coaches are able to play me in positions anywhere from the 7,8,9,10, or 11, but I thrive the best at the 9 or 11 spots. My technical ability combined with my strong foot allows me to beat my defender, send and receive great through balls, and take accurate shots. I thrive in a competitive environment and I play my best under pressure.
I have frequently been seen as a leader on my teams and I use that position to help our team get better as a unit, rather than just individual players. Soccer has taught me how to work with others even if you disagree, to always give 110% and ultimately, embrace the family that the sport brings. I hope to continue to learn more about the game and better myself as a player, throughout the rest of my high school years and into college.
Though I have a passion for soccer, I also hold myself to high academic standards. I made High Honor roll all of Middle school, and I have maintained a 4.0 or higher GPA, my first two years of high school. Not only do I want to make an impact on the field, but I also want to make an impact to my community through medicine. For years, I have participated in community service and volunteer work that benefits my community, outside of school. I am always trying to make a positive impact in the community that has helped me become who I am.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me, I look forward to hearing from you!
