Personal Statement
I am a 5’8” varsity center defender at Windham high school in Windham NH. I have started at center defense on the varsity team since freshman year and have played every minute of every game since in that position. I was the only junior elected captain this 2019 season along with three seniors. I pride myself on being reliable and available for every game. I take my fitness and health seriously and believe this has helped me remain as injury-free as possible. When I am not playing for my school I play club soccer for the Aztecs out of Middleton Massachusetts. With my club team I primarily play center defense but have floated around to other defensive positions and even defensive mid when the need is there.
I am a focused, driven, athlete that is anxious to play at the next level in college but I also take my studies very serious and currently have a 3.8 GPA. Nursing is the area of study I am most interested in and I was accepted in 2019 to a CTE program at Salem NH High School to learn all about Nursing and health sciences. Through this program I was also chosen as an outstanding student with the option of a summer program studying at Tuft Medical. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend with the virus challenges but it was an honor to be selected.
As a central defender, I have learned that I need to be a leader on the field and off. I was elected captain of our SALT Club (Student Athletic Leadership Team). We study leadership and I coach and mentor underclassmen both in sports and academics. My ideal university would be where I can excel both in my studies and as an athlete balancing all the key activities to my highest potential.
