I started playing soccer at the age of five. I loved it so I never stopped. My mom and dad both played as well. I didn't start of playing goalkeeper though I was always curious about the position. One day my team needed a goalkeeper so I volunteered to play it and I loved it. So I played recreation then. I really wanted to be better at the position and I wanted to play where it was more competitive so I went to tryout at the Strikers of Gaston County Soccer Association for the girls team the Hurricanes. My coach's name was Marck DelCastillo he is still my coach today, along side him is my goalie coach Mike Ray. They both gave me the tools to where I am today. I have played club soccer at division two this will be my third year. We came in second place at the Mrytle Beach shootout in South Carolina. I never had experience where the players had five seconds to dribble in and shoot. I was nervous but I had confidence in myself and my team. We made all of our shots I blocked all beside one that soared over the crossbar it was the best feeling ever when we won, every time I step on the field I remember that moment and I thrive for that feeling at the end of every game.
I believe being a goalkeeper means I'm a leader. I can start the attack from the back and get momentum moving. I see things on the field others may not see. I am good at communicating telling my back line to watch the run or who is open. I believe the difference in a great goalkeeper and a good goalkeeper is heart not only do you need to be good at the position, you need to have passion. I feel myself change from before game time to when it starts it's like a new person all my worries go away. I'm also great in the classroom. I'm as prepared in the classroom as I am on the field.
