I have been playing sports my whole life, but instead of sticking with one, I skipped around and tried just about everything my current town had to offer. I played soccer off and on until 6th grade. I played softball in 7th and 8th grade, and then started playing basketball freshman year. That first year of basketball was probably the biggest athletic obstacle I've faced because I'd never played before. It was a very good test of my work ethic and perseverance. My junior year I was asked to play goalie for our high school soccer team because of my unusually long arms. I was out for a shoulder injury the first week I practiced, so I was thrown into our jamboree without have playing goalie for five years. We won both games, and more importantly, I remembered how much I loved playing soccer. Plus, it came more naturally than basketball did. We ended the season 12-2 and I had 85 saves. This upcoming Senior season, I plan to lead the team to get further in the State tournament as their captain.
Academically I would like to pursue a career in the engineering field. Currently I am in the Math/Science track at my high school. My academic collegiate goal is to major in Mechanical Engineering. I am also looking to participate in AFROTC. My family and faith are also very important to me.
