Personal Statement
When I was 6 years old and playing recreational soccer, the goalkeeper position was added to the soccer field. When my coach asked for a volunteer to play the position, I knew that's what I wanted to do. I have been playing goalkeeper ever since, and I love it. From the age of 9 until 14, I played with a club team who played a mostly defensive game, which meant I was getting hit with shot after shot in every game. While this may have made many people feel defeated, it only made me a stroger goalkeeper. I looked at it as an opportunity to work harder and become better. This past year, all of my hard work paid off, and I am now playing for a top division one, Lake Highlands, Texans team. My goal throughout high school is to continue to become better as a person on and off the field and live my life with integrity. I value my time with family, friends, and teammates and stay loyal to those relationships and make them a top priority. Another priority to me is my education and keeping my grades up. I try to have a good balance and feel that am successful at managing all of these priorities while keeping my faith at the center of it all.
