I am a person who has always loved sports but especially soccer. I have a different connection with soccer than any other sport. I am a very committed and competitive person and i love to win. The summer before my junior year, I rolled a tractor over the top of me and broke my C1 vertebrae and ruptured my left vertebral artery. This took my entire junior year off soccer away from me. That year my love for soccer grew even more. I was a manager for the team and it was one of the hardest things to do. Watching your team play everyday while sitting there in a neck-brace was devastating. I am definitely a team player and love making that "family" connection with whatever team I'm on. I like to push not only myself but others to do their best in every practice and every game. I follow team rules and strive to be the best leader i can be. I am very coachable as well and love to learn new things.
I believe that everyone can do hard things and can overcome hard things. I have been through a lot of different trials in my life. I lost my mom to a brain tumor when i was 9 and along with breaking my C1, they have been the hardest things to get through. Being mentally strong is super important in life but also in sports. The physicality of sports can be hard but not near as hard as everyday life trials. If you have the right mentality, you can overcome anything.
I strive to do my best in academics. I set expectations for myself that are reasonable. I work through situations and if i have questions I'm not afraid to ask. Im looking to further my education in home and family studies or teaching.
