Hi, my name is Morgan McNutt and I am from Alexandria, VA. I am 14 years old and am a rising Sophomore. I attend Bishop Ireton, where I play on the varsity soccer team, and I will be starting my second season on varsity this fall. My primary position with my high school team is usually as a forward. This past fall of 2015, my team had a 10-5-3 record, and we were the runners up in the WCAC tournament. Training starts mid August for my highschool team, but for me it's year-round. I have been playing travel soccer for about 6 years, and this past year I played on two travel teams (U14 CCL and U15 WAGS). This year I was one of the captains of my U15 team, which has won two consecutive Virginian Tournaments. I enjoy every second I spend training and playing with my teams, and I am very close with all of my teammates.
My work ethic is something that I believe stands out, not only on the field, but off it as well. As a student-athlete, I work extremely hard to keep a good balance between my academics and my athletics. I am very serious about my studies, and I was on the Honor Roll last year. I work hard to get good grades, and I always put my academics first. In college, what I would like to major in is health science. Other clubs/teams that I do in my free time would be basketball, summer swim, track and field, and I am in the Best Buddies club. Although I am very busy, I always find times to hang out with all of my friends, and also spend time with my family.
Finding a college that is right for me is very important. I would like to attend a college which has a good program for my major. If I find a college which will provide me with both the academic and athletic opportunity I am looking for that would be great! I have some older friends that compete at college level and they love it, and I know that I would love it too.
Thank you for your time!
Morgan McNutt
