Avery Steger '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Avery Steger, and I am a 17 year old junior at Glenvar High School in Salem, Virginia. I have been playing soccer since the age of 5 and hold a lot of passion for the sport. I have been a varsity starter for my freshman and sophomore seasons with full game playing time. In the 2024 high school season, I successfully helped lead my team through a 21-0-1 record season, being the 2024 Three Rivers District Girls Soccer Champions, 2024 Region 2C Girls Soccer Champions, and the 2024 2A Girls Soccer State Champions.

Although I aspire to play for a DI or DII university, I also take into high consideration my academics, and am trying to focus on my career after school as well as my athletic career in school. My goal is to get my master’s in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine and be a trainer for a high school or for a collegiate level team. I do many volunteering and extra-curricular activities such as help work wrestling tournaments with my school’s athletic trainer and even help coach for a local soccer club team in the spring.
