Lily Garcia '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Lily Garcia! Ever since I was little I had a feeling that I was born to lead. This feeling lead me to having the privilege of being team captain for my soccer team at Sherando Highschool. As a captain, I was able to show my strengths by giving my teammates hope, excitement, and positivity throughout our season. I had the privilege of leading the team on and off the field by being serious when necessary but also having fun. I was able to be there for them not just as a captain but as a friend. Building these strong bonds made our team grow to be better players on and off the field. That is the season I will never forget because I got to grow even more as a player and as a person than I ever had thought I would be able to do. 

Academically wise, I am very driven. I like to challenge myself with difficult classes and different types of clubs in order to pursue my academic career. One day I hope to be able to pursue a career in interior design. While achieving this career, I would love to be part of a collegiate soccer team. Being on a team at that level would be able to give me so many opportunities to grow even more as a player and as a person. I feel that I would be challenged physically and mentally in the best way possible. I hope to use those teachings in the future throughout my life. I would love to create so many close bonds with my future teammates. Having close bonds with teammates can make any high intensity game and practice easier to go through because of the support system everyone has with one another. I am definitely not afraid of putting in hard work and 110% effort everyday on any team that would love to have me.
